Life lately
I could not be more ready for these summer months, although my hair may not agree (getting fizzy already!) and to be honest, May was a pretty awesome month so I can't complain. I went on my first flight since the pandemic started for a trip to Turks & Caicos, celebrated my nephew Ian's second birthday, went to the movies (Doctor Strange 2 and Downton Abbey!), enjoyed a recent relaxing three-day weekend, and more. I'm really looking forward to seeing what these upcoming months will bring. Hopefully fun plans with family and friends and even more of a return to normalcy.

One-sentence reviews
These are books (physical + ebooks) from my TBR or the library aka the non-review books.
- Hook, Line, and Sinker (Bellinger Sisters, #2) by Tessa Bailey (⭐⭐⭐💫): Another sweet and fun read in the Bellinger Sisters series but the first book is still my fave.
- The Lost Manuscript by Cathy Bonidan (⭐⭐⭐): I liked the premise and I even didn't mind that it ended up being an epistolary novel but I didn't feel a connection to the characters.
- These Hollow Vows Duology by Lexi Ryan (⭐⭐⭐⭐): [Note: I had an ARC of the second so I was able to read these back-to-back.] This YA fantasy took me completely by surprise with how addicting and fun it was.
- Ice Planet Barbarians / Barbarian Alien (Books 1-2) by Ruby Dixon (⭐⭐💫): I "liked" the first book more than the second but in all honesty, these books were a hilarious train wreck that I couldn't look away from and I felt like the author purposely leaned into the crazy. which made it entertaining.
- Set on You by Amy Lea (⭐⭐): I technically got this for review but this romance just didn't work for me and I found the whole story so lackluster that I'm just going to mention it here.
- Long Shot (Hoops, #1) by Kennedy Ryan (⭐⭐⭐): This is tough because there are parts of it I did like but other parts (definitely check the trigger warnings) were very hard to read.
- The Bridge Kingdom + The Traitor Queen (Books 1-2 of The Bridge Kingdom Series) by Danielle Jensen (⭐⭐⭐💫): The first two books are a completed arc and while I didn't love the romance, the sisterhood aspect more than made up for it.
- Funny You Should Ask by Elissa Sussman (⭐⭐⭐⭐💫): This second chance romance that alternates between the main couple's first meeting and their reunion 10 years later is so, so good.
