Life lately
April quickly passed by in a blur of outings with friends, slow but better work days, lots of rereading and mostly lazy weekends. Then towards the middle of it all I could think about was "Paris in 2 weeks!" and now, in 2 days! I can't wait for a break and to return to Paris. I hope I love it just as much as I did the first time around. One other thing I will say about April is that I'm feeling a burst of creativity. When design at work is boring and I don't have a freelance project to make up for it, I can't help feeling a tad deflated? I've realized that being creative definitely gives me energy. Which isn't to say that I don't get to express myself through my blog because I do. But I feel like I need something more. So I'm excited to say that I have two things to share with everyone soon-ish!

Thank you Kristin for lending me your ARC! |
- In Another Time by Jillian Cantor - 2.5 stars; The book was okay. I actually liked her writing and the premise of her story but the execution was disappointing. As a huge fan of time travel books, I pretty able to suspend my disbelief since it is a tricky topic but there has to be some semblance of sense to it.
- City of Bones (The Mortal Instruments, #1) by Cassandra Clare - 4 stars; I'm finally rereading the series for the first time since 2011! My immediate thought was everyone is a lot younger than I remembered. But even though I lowered the rating, I still love this world and characters so much!
- City of Ashes (The Mortal Instruments, #2) by Cassandra Clare - 3.5 stars; Way too much Simon in this book (I'm even less of a fan!) but everything else was still highly entertaining.
- City of Glass (The Mortal Instruments, #3) by Cassandra Clare - 5 stars; The only reread to keep the same original rating! I still ship Jace/Claryand thoroughly enjoyed how she wrapped up this arc.
- City of Fallen Angels (The Mortal Instruments, #4) by Cassandra Clare - 3 stars; I hate to say it again but too much Simon for my liking although Jace mocking him never fails to make me chuckle. Just like Jace's declarations of love to Clary never fail to make me swoon.
- The Red Scrolls of Magic (The Eldest Curses, #1) by Cassandra Clare - 4 stars; During my reread of TMI, I found myself shipping Alec/Magnus more than I did the first time around, which is why I decided to read this and I am SO happy I did. First of all, Alec is super attractive. And two, these two are super swoony together. Why didn't I see this before? They're my second favorite OTP (from TMI) now.
