Table for Two #23: Ed's Lobster Bar

For this month's Table for Two, I'll be chatting about Ed's Lobster Bar and Alexa is featuring Matcha n' More.

I can't resist seafood, especially lobster, and when Ed's Lobster Bar kept popping up on lists of must-try restaurants, I knew we should go check it out. We walked in without a reservation but got seated right away. The storefront is a bit small (in fact, we were so busy talking that we walked right past it) but the restaurant extends pretty far back while the front-half is a one very long bar. It's a cozy atmosphere with service that is both fast and friendly.

Because we needed to leave room for dessert, we opted to share the lobster poutine (!!) and the appetizer portion size of their lobster meatballs. Both were delicious but it should be no surprise that the poutine was our favorite. We both love french fries but then to have those fries covered in cheese and lobster made them extra yummy! It was a pretty huge plate and yet we managed to polish off most of it because it was just that good. (We also finished the meatballs.)

I would definitely go back again because there were still so many other things I wanted to try like their lobster ravioli, lobster pot pie, fried oyster sliders, New England clam chowder and lobster mac n cheese. Seriously this is a must try for anyone who loves seafood!

You can find Ed's Lobster Bar at 222 Lafayette St.

Let us know if you check it out!

Alexa of Alexa Loves Books and I have teamed up to bring you Table for Two, a collaboration that involves two of our favorite things - New York City and food. The two of us will be highlighting restaurants and dessert spots in New York City. You'll be hearing our personal opinions on the place and the food, as well as where you can go to try it out for yourself.
