Life lately
SUMMER IS ABOUT TO START! It's finally starting to feel like it and plans are coming together too. Between BEA/BookCon madness this week, upcoming ballets with Alexa, one of my best friends being pregnant (the baby shower is next month) and my other best friend and I booking our trip to Aruba, I have so many good things on my mind. And I need to focus on the good. Don't get me wrong, May was a good month but also, kind of an overwhelming one? Juggling my full-time job and freelance one has been tough lately and I've been needing the mental break. Which is why this past three day weekend couldn't have come at a better time. I went out with my girl cousins to get a massage and eat at our favorite soft tofu restaurant. I watched Solo, met up with friends and shopped. It was all very much needed. But now, I'm ready for June and what's to come!
This month's
On the blog
Read but not reviewed
- The Prophecy (Titan, #4) by Jennifer L. Armentrout - 2.5 stars; You all know how much I love JLA and my second favorite series from her is Covenant but I've always struggled with this spin-off. Seth and Josie just weren't as compelling and I wasn't a fan of how everything wrapped up.
- Dragonsinger (Harper Hall, #2) by Anne McCaffrey - 5 stars; When I found a beautiful new edition of this book, I decided to re-read it for the third time and unsurprisingly, I still love it.
- Wuthering Heights by Emily Bronte - 1 star; I dislike this book even more as an adult reading it for the second time. Almost every single person is horrible, the exception being the housekeep who shares the story Catherine and Heathcliff.
- Worlds of You: Poetry and Prose by Beau Taplin - 4 stars; I've been a huge fan of Beau Taplin's poems and I couldn't be happier than his books are finally get distributed more widely. And his latest collection does not disappoint.
- Gunnerkrigg Court, Vol 1: Orientation by Thomas Siddell - 3 stars; My old boss gave me a copy of this and told me it reminded him of Harry Potter. That was all I needed to hear! I did enjoy it and did see the similarities but I'm still on the fence about continuing.
- Take the Lead (The Dance Off, #1) by Alexis Daria - 3.5 stars; This is definitely a must read for anyone who loves Dancing with the Stars and romance novels. It's fun and sexy!

How's your month been?
I'm happy I finally read the Harper Hall series! And it still makes me laugh that you reread Wuthering Heights as an adult, and finished it still hating that book :p
