Life lately
Given all the recaps I've done this week, I will keep this short! Christmas through New Year is one of my absolute favorite times of the year for three reasons: family, friends and no work. I feel like all I've done for the last few weeks is eat, hang out with loved ones, eat, relax, eat and eat some more. Read but not reviewed
- Water's Wrath (Air Awakens #4) by Elise Kova - 4.5 stars; While the third book was my least favorite, the 4th got the series back into its usual stride.
- Crystal Crowned (Air Awakens, #5) by Elise Kova - 4.5 stars; I was very happy with how the series ended!
- The Rules of Magic by Alice Hoffman - 4.5 stars; This wasn't my usual read and it's definitely slow going but I eventually became very invested in the characters and the story! It was fun to see the origins of Practical Magic (I've only seen the movie).
Flights of Fantasy
I read 6 fantasy books, which include: Water's Wrath by Elise Kova, Crystal Crowned by Elise Kova, The Rules of Magic by Alice Hoffman, The Cruel Prince by Holly Black, Between the Blade and the Heart by Amanda Hocking, and Reign the Earth by A.C. Gaughen.
I surpassed by goal last month but here's my final tally: I read 49 books of the 35 I originally planned for.
Now it's time for an announcement! Alexa and I have been running this challenge for three years now and we've enjoyed it so much. But, we've decided that this will be the last one we'll host. Thank you to everyone who's joined us. We hope this challenge (and our book club) have helped introduce you all to a lot of awesome fantasy.
And lastly, the winner of this year's challenge is Jana of The Artsy Reader Girl!
Hope you all met you reading goals!
Reign the Earth was a really fun fantasy read!
