Rachel & Carina's Infinite Playlist (115)

RACHEL • "City of Stars" from La La Land

When Carina emailed me her pick for this week's playlist, I had to laugh because I knew we'd both pick songs from La La Land! I'm a huge Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone fan (probably even more so now) and despite all the hype, I went into the movie theatre with pretty even expectations. And I, well we, ended up really loving it! Their chemistry was off-the-charts. I enjoyed the imperfectness of their singing/dancing performances (they're not professionals and they don't try to be; that was part of the charm!). And I loved the ending.

I've been listening to the whole soundtrack but my favorite is this duet with the two main leads. Enjoy!

CARINA • "Another Day of Sun" from La La Land

I'm a fan of Emma Stone, Ryan Gosling and musicals but surprisingly did not have a major urge to watch this movie. Randomly, Rachel and I decided to see what all the hype was about on a stormy Sunday afternoon in Florida and I'm so glad we did because I loved it! I'm glad I watched it prior to reading all the negative reviews (which I did after) because I don't think I would've loved it as much as I did. I do agree with a lot of the negative reviews/points many have made but the one negative review I disagreed with was the unconventional ending - I personally loved it.

I admit, I was a bit skeptical to even go and watch this movie but the opening scene and song got me hooked thus, my song pick for this week. Enjoy!
