Songs for Sunny Days

There are certain songs that just make me think of summer. At the beginning of June, the first thing I did was make a "start of summer" playlist on Spotify. Then on my other blog, Carina and I put together our own summer playlist. And still, that wasn't enough for me! I kept thinking I wanted a playlist of old favorites (meaning it didn't come out in the past year) that I've returned to over and over again to remind me of warm, sunny weather.

Before I took the time to listen to all my playlists on Spotify and run through the songs on my iPhone (this was serious business, you guys), I had an idea of what the songs would be like. I thought most of them would be dance-y, super upbeat and potentially bubblegum pop. But it was the opposite! They're all happy but pretty chill. The "loudest" song is "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun" by STRFKR but honestly, I usually want that song on every playlist I make.

But now that I think about it, it makes sense. When I think of summer, I imagine getting in as much relaxing and sun as possible. So hopefully these songs will make you think of those things too!

    Embarrassingly, I don't know a few of these songs. I definitely have to remedy that. It made me smile to see Weezer on this list. I made a "Bad Days" mix in college (for class credit no less!) of songs to listen to on a bad day to cheer yourself up and a few Weezer songs made it on there too.

    Aw, I love your multiple playlists! That's so awesome. I need to start creating certain playlists for certain seasons since I can pick out songs that were "important" to me or ones that I really loved over certain periods of time.

    Sorry I sent you the longest run on sentence ever. :(

    I agree with Island In The Sun! That song just makes me happy. So does Go Put Your Records On. <3 I know Young The Giant a little, I need to check out this song.

    You've got some really nice music there that I can't wait to give a listen to!
    My current playlist is basicaly consisting of slow, melodic and depressing songs, not sure why, I think because it's Winter down here in South Africa! ;)

    I love this playlist! I'm particularly fond of Island in the Sun and Here Comes the Sun; both of these songs have always brought me summer vibes ;)
