Random Monday Musings

That moment when you realize it's November.
I was hanging out with two of my best friends over the weekend. For the first time in what felt like forever, we spent an entire, impromptu day together. We didn't have any real plans aside from getting ramen for lunch. But we ended up driving around a bit getting from place to place, shopped for hours but most of all, just talked a lot. About everything. I always miss them when we haven't hung out in a while but it isn't until we're face to face that it hits me. Just how much our conversation, laughter and their presence re-charges me. But we've all been so busy (part of the problem with growing up I guess!) and we were like, ok we need to set aside (at least) one day each month to hang out. So Carina goes, let's pick the day for November. Then she and I pause, look at each other and realize - oh shit, it is November already.

Christmas is next month!
Which of course led me to my next thought - Christmas is coming up! Which means I get to buy a little Christmas tree (probably fake) for my apartment and it's incredibly dorky just how excited I am for this. But I can't wait to decorate! My cousins and I are talking about our Secret Santa exchange, I need to make a list of presents to buy, think of ideas, maybe send out Christmas cards this year. As much as I hate cold weather and commuting in the snow (snow while I'm warm & toasty in my bed is not a problem), I really love the holidays. That time between Thanksgiving and New Year is one of my favorite parts of the year. Just so much family and friends to spend time with. I love it.

I've been living in my apartment for almost 7 months.
I never imagined, although I had hoped, that I would love living on my own so much. But I do! My apartment is finally completely furnished. With the exception of a few things I still need to hang up, my decorating is done. I even have a house plant! I look around sometimes and I just feel so happy knowing this is all mine. Now I should probably think about having some housewarming parties. (Yes, plural.)

Too many TV shows.
Sometimes it surprises me I can read so much, especially when I keep on adding more shows. There's my usual The Walking Dead, Beauty and the Beast, Revolution, Vampire Diaries, Grey's Anatomy and Scandal. (Whew!) I'm netflix'ing Breaking Bad which I am now obsessed with. White Collar came back and I need to catch up. Then on Saturday morning, I was lazy to get out of bed and decided to watch the first three episodes of Reign. Which I really liked.

Anyway, that's most of what's been going through my mind these days.
What's been on your mind lately?
(And are you watching any of the same shows I am?)

  1. No really, how did it get to be November? Like where does the time go? I go between TIME IS SO FAST! And OMG TIME IS SO SLOW! That time can't win.

  2. I still can't get over the fact that it's NOVEMBER. Where has the time gone indeed? There has been so much going on in my life lately that stepping back and realizing how much time has passed still absolutely amazes me. I'm glad you're enjoying living on your own! And please, let's hang out soon. I miss you!
