RACHEL • "Heavy Metal Heart" by Sky Ferreira

I tried not to pick this song. I really did. I just chose a Sky Ferreira song a few weeks ago and I usually try not to pick the same musician too closely together. But since listening to her new album Night Time, My Time a few days ago, I have been obsessed with this song. It caught my attention immediately and I can't get this line -- "You make my heavy metal heartbeat beat oh oh" -- out of my head. I just want to stand up and sing it on my top of my lungs. (Which I have done while driving.) And even though I've found a bunch of a new music this week that I love, this is the one I want to share. Enjoy!

CARINA • "What Good Is Love" by Schuyler Fisk

I first heard Schuyler Fisk in the movie "I'm Reed Fish" and immediately fell in love with her voice (and her name! How cool is her name??). Anyways, a few years later I had the opportunity to watch her sing live with two of my best friends. I haven't listened to her music in a while but was in the mood for some acoustic/singer-songwriter/indie-rock type of music. I chose this song in particular because I'm always a sap for sad songs. So, if you're in a mellow/contemplative mood, sit back, relax and press play.
