Rachel & Carina's Infinite Playlist (48): Elvis Covers

Last week I realized that Carina and I have been posting our playlists for a year now! It's funny how one random conversation turned into this weekly feature. We haven't done a theme in a while and we had talked about posting these Elvis Presley covers months ago but never found the right time. But today seemed like a good day to share them.

RACHEL • "Love Me Tender" by Norah Jones (cover)

I first heard this song in "The Princess Diaries 2" movie, of all movies. I even remember the exact scene it was played. Mia and Chris Pine's character (I forgot his name) sneak out to meet one night and this was playing in the background as they slow danced. At the time, I thought it was so romantic and I've basically been in love with this song ever since. It's beautiful and raw and Norah Jone's voice and take on it is just perfect.

CARINA • "Can't Help Falling in Love" by Ingrid Michaelson (cover)

I first heard this version in the trailer of one of my favorite movies, "Like Crazy" & I immediately fell in love. The way Ingrid sings this song always leaves me in tears.. Maybe because I'm a sap or maybe it just reminds me of the movie. Funny enough, for those who have seen the movie, I am actually writing this post while sitting in the airport terminal waiting to board my flight. Haven't witnessed any Like Crazy moments yet. Hopefully everyone arriving/departing are with their loved ones.
