Rachel & Carina's Infinite Playlist (32): Paramore Edition!

RACHEL • "Still Into You" by Paramore

Paramore used to be one of my most favorite bands. I first heard them way back when they were opening up for Rocket Summer and it was pretty much love at first listen. Something about their sound and lyrics backed by Hayley Williams' voice just resonated with me at the time. After that, my best friends and I probably went to 3 or 4 concerts - each time more amazing than the last.  But after a while, I kinda stopped listening to them. Maybe it was the overexposure or their new sound but it wasn't the same. Anyway, they came out with a new album last week and I decided to give it a listen. And I was surprised! It was still catchy but different and at the same time, made me feel reminiscent. I actually like a bunch of songs but this is currently my favorite. I was in the mood for a happy love song.

CARINA • "My Heart" by Paramore

I first heard Paramore with Rachel by chance. The two of us, new college grads, enamored by the hustle and bustle of the city, were really into attending small/intimate concerts in NYC. I remember standing in the balcony of this small NYC venue waiting for the main band to perform when Hayley Williams of Paramore started singing. I was hooked. After their set, Rachel and I found out that the people standing with us in that balcony were the band's family (semi-star-struck-moment). We attended a few more Paramore concerts but that first concert still stands as my favorite. My song pick for this week is one of the songs from that concert. Enjoy!
