My thoughts ...
One sentence summary: Lily has left a red notebook full of challenges at the Strand hoping the right guy will find it - the question is, is Dash the right guy? The good: I've always loved the idea of meeting a guy at a bookstore and this book that took idea to a whole other level. It was a unique plot with characters that I found myself genuinely liking. Dash is.. well I wasn't sure how to describe him but this blogger described him as being Jess Mariano (from Gilmore Girls). And when I read that, it was like a lightbulb went off in my head. He is a lot like him, except I think he's more open and vulnerable. Then Lily is one of the most optimistic female protagonists I've read.. ever. She's kind, a little socially awkward, cares about things like curfew and animals, loves to bake. I enjoyed reading both of their point-of-views as their little adventure went on (the chapters alternate between the two).
The bad: I don't think this is a bad thing per se but it can be a little far-fetched at times. Personally, I think it's part of the charm.
Do I recommend?: Yes! It's a light, fun read and perfect to read right about now (it takes place during Christmas).
Happy reading!
I NEED to read this book. I may save it for later on in the year, when Christmas rolls around, but still, I MUST read it. It sounds absolutely adorable - and the kind of situation I wish happened in real life.
